During the fourth commision I believe there were five carriers in a line. From memory there was the Eagle, Bulwark, Albion, Centaur, and the Aussi. carrier Melbourne. Am I correct ????
The recent question re 5 in a line, we belive occurred during the Fotex or Photex 65. I remember visiting Victorious in Singapore, whilst serving on Eagle tht year, but am not sure if they were in the line.
I remember the formation and the exercise but not the makeup of the carrier force so will carry out some research.
Does anyone remember when hands to bathe were given in the Mindanao Trench off the Phillipines?? The water was supposed to be eight miles deep, I dived in off four deck and ricked my neck. Whilst in the water and nursing my injured neck, guys were joking about the large sharks seen following the ship for gash recently. All of a sudden something grabbed my ankle and pulled me under violently. It turned out it was Muzz who had swum under me. Its not true the water turned brown around me. Cheers Harry.
As an uninterested observer of the Football World Cup. England played their best football without Beckham and Rooney. Honestly what a bunch of "Plonkers".
Hi Guys, all persons off the fourth commission who have applied for the P.J.M. medal. The website www.nmbva.co.uk have advised that medals will be despatched by the Malaysian High Commission London in the mail after first confirming by telephone that the address is correct. Personnaly I think we will be lucky to see them this side of Christmas. Cheers and Beers Harry
